When it is all said and done, Mike Evans could have a valid argument as the best Buccaneers player in franchise history.

Between Super Bowles, individual accolades, a good chance at the Hall of Fame, and league records, Evans has a legacy that goes beyond even the one in Tampa.

Mike Evans has proven himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, year-in and year-out. It doesn't matter the quarterback. It doesn't matter the coach. Evans is a baller, and his ability to maintain such a high level of play despite the changes continues to defy expectations every year.

One of the biggest things going for Evans is his NFL record streak for most seasons with 1,000 yards to start a career. Evans has done it all nine years of his career, and he is currently on pace to finish this season (with Baker Mayfield at quarterback) with 2,014 yards.

That projection may be a little lofty, especially for a guy with Evans' tendency to miss a few games per year, but it is safe to say that Evans' streak is going to be safe if this year holds at this pace.

That's just it-Evans is able to make a difference (and a name for himself) regardless of who the quarterback is. Whether it is Mike Glennon, Tom Brady, or Baker Mayfield, Evans is one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL.

So, to all the naysayers that wanted to talk about the end of Mike Evans' success in Tampa due to an "inferior" quarterback in Baker Mayfield, it may be time to rethink that whole notion.

Mike Evans the star isn't going anywhere. Well, he isn't if the Bucs make the right decision and pay one of the most important players in franchise history.
