The Tennessee Titans pulled off an overtime victory in Week 2 at home against the Los Angeles Chargers. Starting 0-2 is almost always a death sentence for a season, but luckily the Titans were able to avoide that fate.

The offense was much more efficient, collecting 246 yards through the air and getting multiple targets involved. The run game wasn't spectacular, but Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears both had key runs that helped cement the victory.

It was far from a perfect performance, but it was enough to get a win. Now, let's identify the three Titans who stood out the most on Sunday.

Jeffery Simmons

Big Jeff was an absolute force on Sunday, collecting 5 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss. Simmons was facing a double-team for much of the game and still found a way to make plays.

Simmons and the entire defense stifled the Chargers' run game all afternoon. The Chargers finished with just 61 yards on 21 carries. The Titans' defense held the Chargers to just 2.9 yards per carry, thanks in large part to Simmons' work on the interior.

It seems that when the Titans need a big play, Big Jeff always delivers. That was definitely the case on Sunday.

Ryan Tannehill

We have to give credit where credit is due. Tannehill faced a ton of criticism after his Week One performance, and deservedly so. However, Tannehill responded with a near-perfect game, completing 20/24 passes for 246 yards and 1 TD. Most importantly, Tannehill did not turn the ball over at all after throwing three interceptions against the Saints.

Tannehill made two especially clutch throws that completely changed the game. The first was a deep bomb to Treylon Burks that resulted in a 70-yard play. Later, Tannehill connected with Chris Moore on a 49-yard bomb. These are the types of plays that Tannehill has to make if the Titans hope to compete in 2023.

Treylon Burks

Burks showed us what he is capable of on Sunday. The receiver came down with a perfect deep ball from Tannehill on a 70-yard play. Burks ended the day with 3 catches for 76 yards, but the 70-yard connection was arguably the biggest play of the game.

Burks showed the speed and hands that made him worthy of a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Due to injuries and inconsistent offense, Burks has not really had much opportunity to shine. Today, the Titans needed a huge play, and the young receiver delivered.

You know what you are getting with DeAndre Hopkins. If Burks can perform the way he did Sunday more consistently, the Titans could have a lethal receiver duo. This is what we have been waiting to see from Burks and the game is entirely different without his big play.
