The Seattle Seahawks are back to .500, and now the focus for the team going forward is staying above that mark and finding a simple path into the playoffs.

The offense has done its part so far this year. The same can't be said for the defense.

If the Seahawks want to make some noise in the playoffs and live up to their true potential, getting the defense back to a replaceable level is key. What better way is there to do that than beat up on a rookie quarterback in Week 3?

After having to play two pretty rough quarterbacks in the first two weeks to poor defensive success, the Seahawks should get a nice week of easier competition when they face Bryce Young and the Panthers.

Young hasn't looked bad, but it is hard to see how that offense is going to get much better for Young without a quality offensive line and few overall weapons.

A rookie quarterback with a bad offensive line on the road is a recipe for disaster. It is also hopefully a recipe for late-season success for the Seahawks if they focus in the right areas defensively.

Even a rookie like Young might prove annoying for a defensive as weak as this one, but perhaps Seattle can find a way to generate some momentum next week that will carry through the rest of the season.
