After Week 1's abysmal run game performance, the Indianapolis Colts desperately needed to find a solution.

In Week 2, they found it, and his name is Zack Moss.

Week 1, the talk of the league was how much the Colts missed star RB Jonathan Taylor. After the RB room combined for 25 yards on the day, those people certainly felt vindicated. But another RB was missing during the Colts Week 1 outing, Zack Moss.

Moss made his season debut in Week 2, and brought life to the Colts run game. He ended the day with 18 rushes for 88 yards (4.9 avg) and a touchdown. His performance more than tripled the production we saw from the entire RB room in Week 1.

The Colts acquired Moss as a part of the trade that sent Nyheim Hines to the Buffalo Bills, and at the time, he was viewed as just a throw-in piece. But since joining the Colts, Moss has had multiple impressive showings. Sunday wasn't the first time the Colts asked Moss to handle the starting responsibilities. As last season, he would start four games in place of the injured Jonathan Tayor.

  • Week 15 @ Minnesota Vikings
    24 rushes, 81 yards (3.4 avg)
  • Week 16 vs Los Angeles Chargers
    12 rushes, 65 yards (5.4 avg)
  • Week 17 @ New York Giants
    15 rushes, 74 yards (4.9 avg)
  • Week 18 vs Houston Texans
18 rushes, 114 yards (6.3 avg), one touchdown

Moss will be the team's starter for at least the next two weeks as Jonathan Taylor remains on the PUP list. And while his status with the team remains up in the air, Moss has shown himself to be a solid RB in this league and way more than the "throw-in" player he was once perceived to be.
