The Chicago Bears might have dodged a bullet that could have led to a larger loss on Sunday.
During the 27-17 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bears starting safety Eddie Jackson left the game in the first-quarter with an apparent foot injury.
Jackson was carted to the locker room after walking off the field under his own power. It was the same foot Jackson injured back in November, ending his season.
"We're going to look at it," head coach Matt Eberflus said after the game. "We're positive right now. But we'll see where it goes. We don't know how positive it will be. We'll see."
Jackson had a strong start to the season against the Packers in Week 1, allowing just one completion while having two pass deflections and four solo tackles. It'll be important to monitor the injury report this week to get a better look at Jackson's status for Week 3.

The Bears also had another injury scare when fellow safety Jaquan Brisker had to be taken off the field and went into the locker room during the first quarter. It was later revealed during the game that Brisker was dealing with cramps and an illness, more than likely dehydration. He managed to return to the game in the third quarter.
Safeties Elijah Hicks and Quindell Johnson entered the game in place of Jackson and Brisker. Brisker finished the game with five total tackles and a pass deflection, according to Pro Football Reference.
The Bears secondary was already entering the game with concerns without cornerbacks Kyler Gordon and Josh Blackwell. Gordon was placed on the injured reserve last week while Blackwell was out with a hamstring injury.
Chicago was also without their starting guard Nate Davis in Week 2. However, it was reported before the game that Davis was out with a personal reason after experiencing a sudden death in the family.
Bears still in dire need of answers after 0-2 start
