In Week 1, the weather was not on the side of football in Cleveland when the Browns hosted the Cincinnati Bengals.
The rain and conditions had a big effect on the game and both quarterbacks, Deshaun Watson and Joe Burrow.
In good news for Watson and the Browns’ offense, that is not going to be the case tonight against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is going to be about 64 degrees with a zero percent chance for rain at the time of kickoff, 8:15 p.m. ET.
Cleveland will gladly accept those numbers 10 out of 10 times. In Week 1, head coach Kevin Stefanski even talked about how the rain had a hand in what they could do.
"I think the ball was heavy and wet,” Stefanski said last Monday. “It was strange. I did not know it was going to rain.”
The ball being heavier makes sense, as Watson often left passes noticeably short to his wide receivers. There will be no excuses due to such weather on Monday Night Football.
Against the Bengals, Watson had a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown, as well as an interception. Cleveland’s quarterback finished 16-of-29 passing for 154 yards in the 24-3 win over Cincinnati.
Tonight, the expectation is that those numbers should be improved with Mother Nature being a bit nicer for the game of football.
Browns beat Steelers tonight if they dial in on these keys specifically
Browns will have to make it happen first.
