Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker walked out of Arrowhead Stadium in a walking boot in Week 1 and since then, it's been a waiting game for him on whether he'll return or not. At the moment, it's not looking good.
He missed all of Week 2's practices and was designated as doubtful to play vs the Seahawks on Friday before finally being ruled out on Saturday. The hope was that he could be back for Week 3 against the Falcons, but when asked about Decker on Tuesday morning, Lions Head coach Dan Campbell said this.
“Can’t say with a ton of confidence, he’ll be back this week"
There you go. That really puts everything into limbo. This isn't a concrete massage saying he won't play this week and yet does feel like a good chance that he won't.
The Lions went with Penei Sewell at left tackle in Week 2 and he played fairly well in that role. Obviously not as well he does on the right side. Matt Nelson will more than likely continue to hold down that right side of things.
We'll see where things go as the week moves along, but right now, it's not looking good.
