Pro Football Focus released its grades for Miami's 24-17 win over New England, and as usual, there are some interesting marks along with a large number of players properly recognized.
Here are Miami's five best and worst-graded players from Sunday night.
Top-graded Dolphins
5) Kader Kohou – 80.4. Played 61 of his 74 snaps in the slot, allowing just 2 catches for 13 yards. Xavien Howard had the impact play with the interception, but Kohou was still a blanket on receivers. An all-around terrific game for #4.
4) Christian Wilkins – 81.3. The Patriots couldn't run the ball well, and Wilkins was a big reason why. He also had a sack and two hurries in 36 pass rush snaps. Disruptive regardless of the down and distance.
3) Salvon Ahmed – 82.3. Raheem Mostert had the big day, but Ahmed still made the most of his limited opportunities (12 snaps). In 7 passing snaps, he had 3 catches for 28 yards. He looked extremely fast with the ball in his hands and is surely proving he deserves more touches.
2) Andrew Van Ginkel – 90.4. The player of the game for Miami, as far as this writer is concerned. With a 91 coverage grade and an 84 pass rush, he was truly a jack of all trades for Miami on Sunday night. Vic Fangio has to keep him on the field more with performances like this.
1) Bradley Chubb – 90.8. With Jaelan Phillips out, Chubb rose to the occasion in the biggest of ways. He earned an insane coverage mark of 94, but more importantly, he had two of the biggest plays of the game with the forced fumble on Demario Douglas and the sack of Mac Jones on the game's final drive.
Worst-graded Dolphins
5) Alec Ingold – 50.1. It appears Ingold's pass blocking is what dragged his score down, with a dreadful 28.9 score in that category.
4) Durham Smythe – 49.6. Miami's lowest-graded offensive player is a bit of a surprise, as he had some nice blocking on some key plays for Miami, including Mostert's first touchdown. However, it's a 60-minute game, and Smythe played in 61 of the Dolphins' 63 total offensive snaps, and apparently not very effectively for the majority of the time.
3) Eli Apple – 46.4. Apple allowed 7 catches on 10 targets for 92 receiving yards. He also had two missed tackles. Not a great showing.
2) Da'Shawn Hand – 43.5. Hand had a hurry and a missed tackle in 10 snaps with a 19.6 tackling mark.
1) Emmanuel Ogbah – 38.3. He only saw the field on 16 snaps – 8 run and 8 pass rush, with a QB hurry to show for it. Instead, it was Chubb and Van Ginkel that made the impact off the edge. Ogbah isn't earning that 4-year, $65 million deal that Miami signed him to in March 2022.
