The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a need at running back.
Anyone who argues with that fact has obviously not been paying attention for the last three weeks.
Tampa's run game has been comically bad for the most part, and that led some to believe a trade for Jonathan Taylor could be on the table. It isn't.
While the situation is obviously fluid and could change at a moment's noticed based on how the Bucs see this as a need, the list of teams interested in Taylor was recently revealed. Tampa wasn't on that list.
This isn't exactly a bad thing for the Bucs in the long run. A bad run scheme is going to be poor with just about any back, so giving up money and resources for a guy like Taylor would only help to a certain degree.
Still, one has to think that another bad rushing performance could make the need a bit more dramatic for Todd Bowles and company as they feel a bit more heat.
Taylor is one of the most talented backs in the league. Maybe he is good enough to overcome a rushing scheme that has struggled for the better part of half a decade. However, that would require the Bucs to change their current stance and make an uncharacteristic move, and that much may not be that likely.
