Cam Heyward attempts to sweep Steelers controversy under the rug

Outside of Mike Tomlin, there may be no player, coach, or person apart of the Pittsburgh Steelers that garners more respect than Cam Heyward.
The 34-year-old veteran is still playing at a high level after groin surgery, but perhaps more importantly, he's the unquestioned captain and leader of the entire team.
And part of being a leader is handling matters that you want no part of. Well, Captain Cam just did his best to brush off a controversy surrounding two of the team's best players:
"Unfortunately, It Became A Story"
After Sunday’s win over the Bengals, I asked Heyward if he wanted to add anything to the report.
“Not really,” Heyward said by phone from the team bus. “I just think for the most part things like that happen on a team all the time. Unfortunately, it became a story but man at the end of the day, it’s not gonna cause a rift or anything. It’s football. We expect you to be passionate about it. When our guys are passionate about it, we handle it. And we keep it moving.” – Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk
The report that Florio was asking about, is one initially reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, saying that a pair of Pro Bowlers in Diontae Johnson and Minkah Fitzpatrick got into an altercation that forced teammates to step in.
Now, part of me wants to say that Heyward is right. Families fight, brothers fight, and if you watch training camp every summer, you know quite well that teammates fight.
But this one was a little different.
It didn't come after a physical practice in triple-digit temperatures.
It came after an embarrassing loss where Johnson was reportedly chirping at coaches and being disrespectful in the eyes of Fitzpatrick.
And when you consider the recent antics he had to answer for, maybe it's not a Steelers problem, rather it's a Diontae Johnson problem.
But no matter what way you want to frame it, it's a distraction and one Heyward shouldn't have to worry about answering in the middle of a 7-4 season and after a big win on the road against a division rival.
