The Chicago Bears had a much needed week off in Week 13 after having an insanely tough stretch to open the season. After a 4-8 start, the Bears are more than likely looking ahead to the offseason during the final five weeks of the season.

The team will return to the facilities this week as they get prepared for their Week 14 rematch against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

During the bye week, the Bears got some good news and some bad news as it relates to their top two draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Following the Carolina Panthers loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13, the Bears chances of securing the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft looks even stronger.

The Bears also benefited by having the Arizona Cardinals win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, leaving the New England Patriots as the only viable team capable of challenging for the top selection.

The Bears will still need some more help from the Panthers over the final weeks of the season in order to fully lock up the top pick in April's draft.

In terms of the Bears second pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the team got some bad news on Sunday. Following the Washington Commanders loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Bears are now slated to have the fifth pick in the draft instead of the fourth.

On top of that, the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans all have the same 4-8 record as the Bears entering Week 14 and could push the team even further down the board depending on how the final five games of the season pan out.

Here's the current look at the Top-10 selections entering Week 14:

1. Chicago Bears (via Carolina Panthers 1-11)
2. New England Patriots  (2-10)
3. Arizona Cardinals (3-10)
4. Washington Commanders (4-9)
5. Chicago Bears (4-8)
6. New York Giants (4-8)
7. Tennessee Titans (4-8)
8. New York Jets (4-8)
9. New Orleans Saints (5-7)
10. Las Vegas Raiders (5-7)

As you can tell, the next few weeks are going to get really interesting in terms of draft positioning for the Top-10 selections. With one win, the Bears could potentially go from a Top-5 selection to barely having a Top-10 pick.

However, if the Bears play the cards right, there's still a potential to have two draft picks in the Top-3 selections if the Cardinals can keep pulling off victories down the stretch. It's going to be an intriguing final five weeks with multiple teams beginning to set their eyes toward April's draft.
