Von Miller's status has been up in the air after the Buffalo Bills linebacker was arrested after his pregnant girlfriend accused him of assault earlier this month.
According to Syracuse.com's Matt Parrino, Brandon Beane, General Manager of the Bills, said "that there isn't a lot that he can say about the Von Miller situation."
He further confirmed that Miller was in the building on Wednesday, and that Miller will be available to play this week in the Bills matchup against the Chiefs.
"You never want anyone in your organization … to have an allegation like that," Beane said. "That’s a very serious nature and … we’re gonna take every precaution with. Culture and character and all those things are super important but we also have to remember we have to let the legal process play out. The guy that we’ve known here for a year and a half, that seems out of character."
Miller allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend on Dec. 1, and was facing a third-degree felony charge. A warrant was issued for his arrest and Miller turned himself into the police. He lated posted a $5,000 bond and had already left Glenn Heights City Jail.
According to the police, Miller put his hands around the woman's neck twice, pulled out a chunk of her hair, and threw her onto the couch. She was reportedly treated for minor injuries. He also reportedly "tried to destroy her laptop as she attempted to leave their apartment during an argument."
However, his girlfriend later told reporters that "no one assaulted anyone."
Miller began his career with the Denver Broncos in 2011, being drafted in the first round, with the second overall pick. There he picked up his first Super Bowl championship with the Broncos in 2016, also being named Super Bowl MVP.
In 2021, he moved to Los Angeles joining the Rams. While he was only there for one season, Miller picked up his second Super Bowl championships.
The Buffalo Bills signed Miller to a six-year, $120 million deal in 2022 and he has been with the team since.
Across his 13 years in the league, Miller has a total of 562 tackles, 123.5 sacks, 27 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and one touchdown.
It is still uncertain at this time if he will be placed on the Commissioner's exempt list, but Beane said that the Bills organization is not expecting that to happen.
