Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen said on Wednesday that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reached out to him after Sunday's viral post-game interaction between the two stars.

Mahomes was upset over an offensive offsides calls on the Chiefs that negated Kansas City's go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Allen met with reporters on Wednesday and shared some thoughts on Mahomes' post-game comments.

"He reached out to me and I was like 'it's football, it's a game of emotion', I know he didn't mean anything by it," said Allen. "I know the cameras kind of caught the last few seconds of what we were talking about. He's an ultimate competitor. He wants to win. That's why he is who he is."

While Mahomes has been slammed all week for his reaction to the end of the game, Allen has put on a PR clinic on how to handle these types of situations.

It was obviously the right call, regardless of whether or not it's typically called. But instead of focusing on that aspect, Allen has exhibited a calm and humble demeanor (and even some empathy). And as a result, he comes out of this whole ordeal looking much better than Mahomes and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
