The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have not done themselves many favors this year on offense schematically. Dave Canales has created a disappointing continuation on what we have seen from Byron Leftwich in the past and this has forced a change from the offense as a whole.

Rather than playing in a scheme that props them up, the players have been forced to play beyond the confines of the system. This means that the guys that play well are playing extremely well given the circumstances.

One player that has done this better than most in running back Rachaad White. White has only gotten better over the course of this season, and the franchise needs to be very happy with the development they have seen relative to what White is working with.

There is not a lot to like about this Buccaneer offense. Much like last year, it is bland and predictable, and that makes it extremely easy for defenses to key in on what is happening and make life Hell for their opponents.

First down runs on far too many drives. Runs on second down after an incomplete pass on first. The patterns are all too easy to see when you watch this team for any stretch of time, and Rachaad White gets hurt the most by these simple trends.

However, White hasn't let his offensive coordinator bring him down too much this year.

Rachaad White has been a breath of fresh air this season as a pass-catcher and is currently on the best rushing streak of his career. These results are extremely tangible in the box score for Tampa with two wins in the last three games.

White leads the Buccaneers with 745 yards on the season with 286 of those yards coming in his last three games. As for passing yards, White has 419 on the year on a catch rate of 90%, good for some of the best efficiency in the NFL.

The young back may not be crazy in either category from a yards-per-touch standpoint, but the overall message is clear; this guy can be a workhorse in a grueling offense.

Just imagine what he could do with an offensive coordinator that actually wanted to call a brand of football that worked in the 2020s.

Despite all the other issues with this Buccaneer team, Rachaad White willing himself to a potential 1,500-total yard season is absolutely something to celebrate. Let's just hope the Buccaneers eventually find a way to get him into some complimentary football situations.
