One New England Patriots legend does not have high hopes about Thursday Night's matchup between his former team and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Appearing on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show, Ty Law was asked if the Patriots stand a chance against the Steelers. And his answer is one to remember.
“Yeah," he began. "A chance to get the ass whipped.”
Seems like Law things the Patriots will pick up their eleventh loss of the season.
“In all honesty, guys, they're trying to find themselves and they gotta look for some other players. I think at this point, I hate to say this… they just can't wait to get it over with," he added (via WEEI's Mike Kadlick). "And hell, us as fans. We can't wait for y'all to get it over with either! You know what I mean?"
Basically what Law is saying is to wait for the draft and the offseason, giving New England a chance to rebuild.
"They gonna have to do a whole overhaul makeover," Law said. "Of course, you got some guys, you know, like the Judon’s, the Gonzalez’s of the world, but it's gonna be a totally different team come next year.”
The Patriots currently have the second overall pick in the draft next year, providing them with a prime spot to pick up a top prospect. So many have turned their focus to 2024.
This season has not gone the way the team wanted, with New England only having two wins on the season at this moment. They have been shut out twice, losing many games that were winnable.
So because of that, many have lost faith in this team. And that starts with Law.
Let's see if the Patriots prove him wrong.
