Anyone who's followed Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's career in the NFL knows two things:
- He is a polarizing player that fans and media treat differently than other quarterbacks.
- He's passionate about promoting colon cancer prevention, a disease that he unfortunately knows well since his mother went through it and passed away in 2013.
Prescott was able to combine those two truths with a genius advertisement of Lead From Behind, an awareness initiative powered by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
While the intention is to prevent a very serious disease, the ad is upbeat and funny in an attempt to go viral and actually make an impact on its audience. You can watch it in full in the tweet below.
That's why Prescott starts the ad off saying that "as a professional quarterback, I get a lot of sh*t."
The Cowboys quarterback proceeds to explain how to use a home screening kit for colon cancer which includes a sample collection container in which you can place a sticker of "something you want to sh*t on, right on the underside."
In the ad, Prescott references the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers (old-timey prospectors, in Dak's words), and the Philadelphia Eagles (large American predatory birds). The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions, who are both on Dallas' remaining schedule, also make an appearance on the video.
While the home screening kits are for people 45 years or older, per the ad, Prescott starred the video and honestly nailed it. It's safe to say the ad will result in countless memes whether the Cowboys win or lose in Week 14 to the Eagles and/or in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers.
