Another disappointing season for the Las Vegas Raiders could lead to them picking near the top 10 again in the NFL draft. While the season was what no fans wanted, they did fire Josh McDaniels, so there is something good to look forward to in the future.

And potentially good draft picks. For some reason, the last two regimes have not made great choices regarding the draft. Hopefully, the next regime knows what they're doing in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

This roster is good when you look at some of the names they will have on paper. However, there are still a ton of holes that need to be filled. The Raiders have a lot of needs going into the next draft, but five are bigger than the rest. Here are the five biggest needs:

Raiders 5 biggest needs

Quarterback

This one is pretty obvious. Even if Aidan O'Connell finishes out the season very well, to me, it is clear he is not the franchise guy. The Raiders need to go and get that franchise guy now because this draft is stacked with great quarterbacks.

O'Connell has certainly shown flashes of being a really good quarterback, especially last game against the Kansas City Chiefs. he was one of the better quarterbacks in the league last week. But we all know the Raiders are still looking for that generational type of player that can take them to new heights. Jimmy Garoppolo obviously isn't it, either.

Defensive tackle

Pick a position, and that's one of the biggest spots that needs help. Maxx Crosby cannot continue to care about the defense like he has, and the Raiders have to get him some help on the defensive line, but more specifically at the tackle position.

Adam Butler has had some moments where he is really good. Jerry Tillery hasn't been good outside of one week, and the Raiders don't have great depth, either. Get Crosby some help, specifically, guys who can stop the run in the middle.

Cornerback

Marcus Peters was a failure, as many predicted he would be. He just would not tackle. Outside of the one pick-six, he wasn't good in coverage either.

Nate Hobbs has been banged up, and Jakorian Bennett continues to get beat deep as a rookie. So, it's safe to say the Raiders need more help there. I feel like they may go and get at least two defensive backs in the draft this year.

Offensive line depth

The Raiders didn't target the offensive line in the draft last season, even though they should have. They have an average offensive line at best, and the depth isn't great.

You know the depth isn't great when you have Jermaine Eluemunor playing at left tackle when Kolton Miller is out. Eluemunor is a right tackle. The depth has to be better, especially with some of the injuries we saw this year.

Running back (depth?)

There is a big chance Josh Jacobs will not be on the team next season. He signed a one-year deal this offseason, and who knows if the new regime will want to play him as much as he is wanting.

If he doesn't come back, Zamir White is not good enough to be the full-time starter. So, even if Jacobs does resign, they may still need depth anyways. It's a tricky pick, but it makes sense. Maybe take a running back on day three if they know Jacobs will be back.
