After what looked like a potentially season-ending injury for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Monday night, things have simmered down in terms of the severity of the injury. So much so that Lawrence may be able to play this Sunday.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the former No. 1 overall pick will be a game-time decision for this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
With Lawrence's status still unknow, Pelissero also reports that the Jaguars have signed quarterback Nathan Rourke to the active roster. This isn't your typical practice squad elevation. Rourke will receive at least three game checks, even if he's released before those are paid out. He'll make $125,000 over the next three weeks, as a result.
Lawrence's injury was classified as an ankle sprain, and he was listed as limited in practice the Thursday injury report.
Should Lawrence be unable to play this week, it would be the first start he's missed in his career. He currently has the third-longest active start streak behind Josh Allen and Justin Herbert.
The Jaguars currently hold a one-game lead over both the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South.
