It’s a victory Monday for the Cleveland Browns for the eighth time this season.

With the 31-27 win at home over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Browns are 8-5 on the season in the thick of a playoff push.

Joe Flacco became the fourth different quarterback to win a game for Cleveland this season. That is a testament to the coaching staff led by Kevin Stefanski and the big-in that this team has despite so much adversity.

Everything was cooking for the Browns at home pretty much, as it often has this season. Let’s take a look at a few players who just got it done.

TE David Njoku

Njoku’s best game of the season came all in the first half. The athletic tight end caught two touchdown passes and had 91 yards receiving on nine catches. After a couple of rough games with some drops, Njoku was a sure hand and Flacco’s top target in Week 14.

QB Joe Flacco

Flacco is out here making plays for the Browns at 38 years old. He tossed three touchdowns to just one interception against Jacksonville on a play that wasn’t his fault. In just his second game of the season, Flacco was the first Browns’ quarterback to break 300 yards. He finished 26-of-45 for 311 yards and has earned the job for the rest of the way.

WR David Bell

Bell’s first career touchdown came in his second season during Week 14 and you could just see the smile on his face. On a fourth down, Bell was found wide open in the middle of the field where he raced 41 yards for the score. It was his only catch of the game, but it was probably the biggest one of the day.

P Corey Bojorquez

Punters can be weapons and Cleveland’s certainly was against the Jaguars. Bojorquez booted a 72-yard punt that flipped the field for the Browns completely. Not many punters have the leg strength that Bojorquez has. On his eight punts against the Jags, Bojorquez averaged over 51 yards per punt.

CB Martin Emerson Jr.

Cleveland being able to get Emerson in the third round of last year’s draft should be a crime because it was theft. In an NFL Draft do-over, he is a top 20 pick without a doubt, perhaps top-15. In the first half alone, Emerson had two interceptions off of Trevor Lawrence.

He did a nice job when matched up with Calvin Ridley and just flashed time and time again. Emerson’s length is such a weapon because when you think he’s beaten, he has the length to make up for it. Emerson is a Pro Bowl-level player and he should get the nod.

CB Greg Newsome II

After a couple of rough games out west, Newsome bounced back in a big way for Cleveland in Week 14. The third-year player got to see some action on the outside and recorded an interception. Newsome isn’t the biggest corner but he’s not scared to be physical and he showed that against Jacksonville.

DT Maurice Hurst

Cleveland needs to find a way to bring Hurst back, even if he is going to need a bump in pay. Hurst is playing the best ball of his career and has most importantly been available — that has not always been the case in his career.

Against the Jaguars, Hurst had four tackles and a sack. He’s been a menace in both getting after the quarterback and being a body in the middle on running-downs. With Jordan Elliott in concussion protocol, we may see even more of him, which is a plus.
