The end of the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs game did not disappoint. And there was plenty of excitement that led to a lot of controversy after the game.
Patrick Mahomes had a meltdown on the sidelines that carried into his postgame press conference after the officials called back an impressive play by the Chiefs that would have resulted in a potential game-winning touchdown.
The quarterback located Travis Kelce who took the ball past the 30, but was caught between a few Bills defenders. He looked back and with quick thinking, sent the ball to Kadarius Toney who took it into the end zone.
Yet despite the impressive play, the play got called back after the officials ruled that Toney was offsides.
While all the attention was focused on Mahomes after the game, Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver had a very underrated but important quote.
"Really, I was walking out the field and I see a minute thirteen. I say, 'sh** they left Josh too much time," Oliver told WROC's Thad Brown after the game. "So if they scored, it was like, still got a minute thirteen and we got Josh Allen. Anything can happen."
Oliver's faith in his quarterback is clear and he knew that even if that touchdown counted, the Bills still had plenty of time to go out there and get the win.
But then the call was made, and Oliver certainly wasn't complaining.
"But they took it back and I was like oh sh**, let's go ahead and close it out."
The Bills ended up getting the win, defeating the defending Super Bowl champions 20-17 at Arrowhead Stadium.
Bills’ Josh Allen proves he’s the bigger person with postgame comment
Even the quarterback was impressed by that play.
