Tyreek Hill proved his worth to the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.  Unfortunately, it was while he was standing on the sideline with a wrapped ankle watching his teammates struggle through a 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Hill was tackled by Sean Murphy-Bunting in the first half along the Titans' sideline.  Murphy-Bunting grabbed him by the nameplate and pulled him down for what looked like a clear horse collar tackle, but no flag was thrown.

Hill was able to return sporadically and managed to pick up a key 25-yard catch in the second half, but he was clearly limited and wasn't even able to participate in Miami's final drive.

Hill met with the media after the game and updated his ankle, which is understandably very sore.

So, when it when it actually happened, I've obviously been dealing with some ankle injuries this whole season.  And when it happened, my first reaction was like, 'man, my ankle's gone.' My adrenaline kicked in. I ran off the field. And then I sat for a while and got stiff. I was going through a lot of pain. Then I just made up in my mind, I came in at halftime. I text my wife, bro, like, this sh*t hurts.  Need an ankle massage tonight. She was like 'you'd better your a** back in that game dawg.' I was like, all right. So, it's made up my mind that it's going to hurt. It's going to suck. Tonight and tomorrow morning. You know, when I just went back in the game on my own without anybody saying Reek, go.  Nah, it was like, f*ck this, I gotta get out there, you know, and bring some energy and be that spark. – Tyreek Hill

Hill was asked whether he could cut and plant like he normally could, and the answer was what you'd expect given the circumstances.

"No, I could not", Hill said.  "It was just one of those things where like, you just make your mind up like, 'hey, I want to do.' One of those f*cking mindsets. Feel me?  So then it's going to be like that, you know, to the rest of the season. I feel like at this point in the season, like everybody's typically hurt. And right now, nobody's going to give you pity for just being injured. That's just the reality of this league.

"And my mindset is like, I'm going to go in, I'm going to dominate no matter how I feel.  If I get locked up, it happens.  If I drop a pass it happens man, but just know I'm out there. I'm going.  So that's my mindset."

Hill has dealt with ankle injuries during the season, popping up on the injury report multiple times this year.  However, he hadn't missed time during a game like he experienced on Monday against the Titans.  As he couldn't cut sharply, his ability to contribute was limited.

As far as his personal race to 2000 yards, Hill finished with 61 yards on 4 catches to push his season receiving total to 1481 yards with 4 games left to play.  If he can get back on the field next weekend, then that milestone is still in play.

However, the bigger question is: what does an injured or limited Hill mean for Miami's offense the rest of the season?  If Hill is out, the Dolphins just showed the nation that they're not close to what they are with him.
