The uproar has begun once again. After two wins, the New Orleans Saints felt that they may be on the right track to re-claim the top spot in the NFC South after Week 16. Then, they fell flat on their face again under head coach Dennis Allen.

In the fourth quarter of their loss to the Los Angeles Rams, a familiar face sent out a strong message on Twitter/X regarding the team's performance.

Saints legend Morten Andersen said that fans deserve better than what they saw from New Orleans on Thursday night.

Andersen is one of the most well-known, historic Saints in franchise history. He spent over a decade as the kicker in New Orleans, making 302 of 389 field goal attempts. Anderson made 412 of 418 extra point attempts, a really impressive percentage.

He's got one of the longest NFL careers imaginable as he played from age 22 to age 47. Andersen was a 7-time Pro Bowler in his entire career. The former Saints boot is an avid fan in retirement.

We won't get into what fans 'deserve' in terms of cheering for their team, but it's a fair assessment to say that the Saints' performance in Week 16 was unacceptable.

In their biggest game of the year, they fell into a 30-7 hole that was simply too big to crawl out of in the end. That's been a theme this season under the current coaching staff.

Their defense was gouged for nearly 500 total yards by the Rams, and the offense never gained steam until he fourth quarter. A couple of untimely decisions on fourth down by Dennis Allen did not help out, either.

Regardless, Andersen's sentiment is correct. The Saints should have moved on from their coaching staff last offseason. Now, it looks like a task they will have to deal with this year, instead.

Saints’ embarrassing loss to Rams should seal the deal for Dennis Allen

First, he did it against the NFC South teams not named the Carolina Panthers this season. Now, he's done it in the New Orleans Saints' biggest game of the year against the Los Angeles Rams. Dennis Allen strikes again.  New Orleans entered Week 16 with a chance to skyrocket their playoff chances. With a win […]
