Cornerback Jaire Alexander is finally back. After missing six games with a shoulder injury, the All-Pro player is officially active to face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, in Charlotte.
On Friday, Packers head coach had already said he was "hopeful" that Alexander would be back. The expectation is that he will start alongside Carrington Valentine or Eric Stokes, with Keisean Nixon in the slot.
Fellow cornerback Robert Rochell is out, though. It's not clear if he is inactive because of the neck injury that made him questionable, or if he is healthy enough to play and the Packers decided to go with other options of the roster.
Safety Rudy Ford is active in spite of a back injury, which is particularly important this week because Darnell Savage is out with a shoulder issue. With that, Ford will start alongside Jonathan Owens at safety.
Even listed with knee and foot injuries, TJ Slaton is also active. You can expect a softer workload, with more snaps for rookies Karl Brooks and Colby Wooden.
Linebacker De'Vondre Campbell had already been ruled out because of a neck injury.
Dillon in, Reed out on offense
After missing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game because of a broken thumb, running back AJ Dillon is back. It's only the seventh game of the season where Aaron Jones and Dillon will be available at the same time.
However, rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed won't play, as he's recovering from toe and chest injuries. Fellow rookie Dontayvion Wicks is available — he was listed as questionable with an ankle, but is healthy enough to play.
Second-year receiver Christian Watson still has the hamstring injury suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs and will miss his third consecutive game.
Injured reserve
Tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney), offensive tackle Luke Tenuta (ankle), and running back Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) have all been designated to return from injured reserve. However, they haven't been activated yet, so they won't play.
The Packers have a three-week window to activate them, or they will revert back to the injured reserve and be out for the rest of the season.
