Two games remain before the 2023 season comes to a close for the Cincinnati Bengals. The playoffs are still possible, but it'll take a near miracle.

The first step is getting as healthy as possible. Head coach Zac Taylor brought good news on this front in saying wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase remains "day-to-day" and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt will practice this week.

Chase, who suffered a separated shoulder in Week 15, was given the "day-to-day" label throughout last week. He missed all three practices leading up to Saturday's 34-11 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Taylor could not say if Chase will end up practicing sometime this week, but anything other than declaring Chase out ahead of time is good news for the Bengals.

Taylor-Britt had no chance to play Saturday because he was still required to be on the Reserve/Injured list, where he's been since Week 13. NFL rules require players to stay on I.R. for a minimum of four weeks. The Bengals opted to go this route with Taylor-Britt following an ankle injury.

There was optimism regarding Taylor-Britt returning as soon as possible when he was first placed on I.R., and his recovery matches that.

Cincinnati will travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs on New Year’s Eve. Having Chase and Taylor-Britt available will be crucial towards a potential season-saving victory.
