Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni speaks to the media ahead of Round 1 of the NFL playoffs.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to the media on Monday and provided some injury updates.

Sirianni confirmed that rookie safety Sydney Brown is done for the remainder of the season.

"Sydney posted he'll be done for the year and I can confirm that," Sirianni said. "Shoot, my heart breaks for those guys. I know him and Nakobe [Dean] are our guys that are out for the year and I know that's a hard thing. Having went through that as a college football player, having to be out for an entire season, that's tough.

"So, my heart breaks for him. I have sympathy for him because I know how hard that is when you want to be out on the field with your brothers playing and you can't be because your body won't let you. That really is a tough thing. My heart breaks for those guys that can't be out there with us."

NFL Media's Mike Garafolo reported on Sunday night that Brown suffered a torn ACL during the team's loss to the New York Giants.

The Eagles drafted Brown in the third round of this year's NFL Draft. He saw action in 14 games (five starts), logging 45 tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble and an interception which he returned for a 99-yard touchdown.

Sirianni also shared that he's confident quarterback Jalen Hurts, who banged up his finger on Sunday, will be ready for Round 1 of the playoffs.

“He’s going to be sore, there’s no doubt about that,” Sirianni said. “That finger’s going to get stiff, and he’s going to have to go through hard work to make sure he’s ready to go.  I have no doubt he’s going to do everything he can, and that he’ll be able to play through… his bumps and bruises. I’ve seen him do it over and over and over again.”

As for starting wide receivers DeVonta Smith (knee) and A.J. Brown (knee), and starting right Cam Jurgens (eye), Sirianni plans to see how the week progresses.

The Eagles get a little bit of extra rest since they don't play their first playoff matchup until Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Let's hope that's just enough time for the Birds to get back to full health.
