The Los Angeles Rams have officially clinched a playoff berth and there's not much reason to play their key players, but there's still plenty of motivation to win this week's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
That's because the Rams have been dominated by the 49ers for the last five seasons. . LA is 1-9 in its last 10 games after a 3-1 start when Sean McVay first took over in 2017, The last against San Fran came via the NFC Championship game – the year the Rams won the Super Bowl.
And, there's a chance the Rams could drop in playoff seeding with a loss. While it's insignificant, overall, dropping to No. 7 does mean there is no shot at a home playoff game, and that's not ideal, ultimately.
Will you be able to watch the game on TV? If you live in the blue areas on the map below you'll get this game on your local FOX channels, according to 506sports.com:

The Rams-49ers game (blue) is competing with three other games during FOX's afternoon slate and one of those games involves the Dallas Cowboys. So, naturally, the station is going to hedge its bets with Dallas' coast-to-coast fanbase in hopes of getting as many eyes on the TV, as possible.
Regardless, if you don't live in the red areas, you won't be able to catch the game on local TV channels. Of course, there are plenty of other ways to watch in today's world. If you have YouTube TV, there's obviously the Sunday Ticket package that comes with it. There are other streaming sites such as FuboTV, DAZN, and others, as well.
And, if you don't want to deal with any of that – you can always listen to the game on the Rams Radio Network.
This could be a potential Divisional Round preview
If the Rams end up losing and dropping to No. 7 in the playoffs, then that sets them up for a possible rematch against the 9ers in the Divisional Round.
San Fran holds the No. 1 seed, so they'll get whichever team is ranked lowest. Sure, we wouldn't get the Jared Goff-Rams reunion special during Wild Card Weekend, but a third game between these two teams wouldn't be bad, either.
