Despite all the troubles the Cincinnati Bengals have incurred on both sides of the ball, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and edge defender Trey Hendrickson are Pro Bowlers for the third consecutive year.

Chase and Hendrickson were announced as members of the original roster, with running back Joe Mixon as a first alternate, and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. as a third alternate.

With his third selection in as many years as a pro, Chase becomes the fourth Bengals receiver and 13th receiver in NFL history to start a career with three Pro Bowl nods. Issac Curtis, Cris Collinsworth, and A.J. Green were the previous Bengals to accomplish such a feat.

No other franchise has more than two on the list, and at this rate, it may take a while for another team to catch them.

Chase is up to 96 receptions, 1,197 yards, and seven touchdowns on the season despite playing five games without Joe Burrow throwing him the football. He's fourth in the AFC in both receptions and yards in 15 games played.

Hendrickson has also only been with the Bengals for three years and has the same number of Pro Bowls. He's the fifth defensive player and second defensive lineman in franchise history with at least three selections.

Only one player in the AFC (and NFL) has as many sacks as Hendrickson's 17, and that's Pittsburgh Steelers edge defender T.J. Watt. Hendrickson is looking to become the Bengals' first-ever official season-long NFL sack leader this week.

Mixon and Brown have made the Pro Bowl in recent years, and they can also participate in this year's event if players at their respective positions decline the invite.

The 2024 Pro Bowl Games are set for February 4 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
