Cleveland Browns have a chance to do something special in Week 18 that hasn’t done in a long time.
In a game that is rather meaningless for both sides for different reasons, Cleveland has a chance to win a game with their fifth different quarterback this season. Kevin Stefanski said on Wednesday that Jeff Driskel will start for the Browns and P.J. Walker will be his backup.
This exact move could end up being the cherry on top for what is likely the second NFL Coach of the Year award in four seasons.
Cleveland has already won games with Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Joe Flacco, and Walker this season. Flacco is going to get a chance to rest on Sunday with the playoffs and the No. 5 seed secured.
Winning 11 games with the amount of injuries Cleveland has encountered including vital positions like quarterback and running back is impressive. That doesn’t even factor in missing your top three offensive tackles, amongst many other lost players. Winning that many games and overcoming that is enough to win the award this season alone.
The coaching job that Stefanski has done in 2023 could look even more impressive around 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday if the Browns can down the Bengals with a lot of backups on the field.
