The Baltimore Ravens and Michael Pierce have come to terms on a contract extension deal, as noted by ESPN’s Field Yates.

The Ravens and Pierce reportedly agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million contract.

Pierce was set to hit free agency in March. The veteran defensive tackle signed off on a three-year, $16.5 million deal with the Ravens in 2022, which came following his one-season run with the Minnesota Vikings.

Pierce has been a standout performer in Baltimore’s No. 1 ranked defense this season. He is one of four Ravens defensive players who have started in all 16 of the side’s regular season games so far this year, and he ranks eighth on the team in snaps played on defense (605).

Pierce has tallied 36 total tackles, four quarterback pressures, and 1.0 sacks through 16 contests played on the season.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta is set to have quite a busy offseason, especially as the likes of Jadeveon Clowney, Geno Stone, and Justin Madubuike will be out of a contract in March. It will be noteworthy to see whether DeCosta ends up signing another defensive player to an extension agreement before the start of Baltimore’s upcoming playoff run.
