After each and every game, there remain questions about Bill Belichick's future with the New England Patriots.

However, an AFC divisional foe made a move this weekend that raised a few eyebrows. And that left some wondering if Robert Kraft would do something similar.

Over the weekend, Jets owner Woody Johnson came out publicly, saying that head coach Robert Salah and general manager Joe Douglas will return for the 2024 season, the New York Post reported.

New York's struggles this season, combined with their quarterback controversy mirror the Patriots in some ways. Yet, while Johnson has made this bold claim, Robert Kraft's silence is saying a lot.

And on Tuesday morning, after the Patriots big win over the Denver Broncos, Bill Belichick was asked about the situation.

"I don't really know anything about the Jets situation. I don't know anything about that," he said on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show. "So, [Going] to get ready for Buffalo here. Go back over the Denver game, make some corrections on that and talk about things we could have done better, things we need to build on, and then move on to Buffalo. That's what I'm going."

Following his response, the head coach was asked a very important question: would he want that public endorsement from Kraft?

"Yeah, my job is to get the team ready to play every week that's what I do, so. That's what I'm going to keep doing. That's what I've always done."

Why Bill Belichick should stay

There are conflicting reports coming out constantly this season surrounding Belichick's future with the Patriots. And to me, this proves one thing: they don't know what they are going to do yet.

However, after Sunday's win and the reaction in the locker room, it's clear that these players love Belichick and consistency play hard for him.

Even the way quarterback Bailey Zappe embraced Belichick after the win says a lot.

There is no doubt that changes need to be made heading into the 2024 season. And that starts with almost every position on the offense.

But, when a coach wins six Super Bowl championships and is considered one of, if not the best of all time, he deserves to stick around and get a chance to change the narrative. Especially considering how the players respond to him.

When talking with a lot of the players throughout the season, they hold so much respect for Belichick. And many have spoken publicly about how they don't like these rumors.

The locker room hasn't shifted on Belichick yet, so why should the Krafts.

Give him another year to prove he can turn things around.
