Here it is. The Detroit Lions have finally ended a 30 year streak in which they didn't win their division. You saw just happy and emotional this team was afterwards. They set out to check a box and they checked that box on Sunday. Now comes the hard part, staying hungry and moving towards checking the next box.

This season isn't over and the Lions still have the opportunity to do big things. They can get the the two seed on their own if they win these final two games. If they do that and the 49ers lose one more game, the Lions get that one seed and they get a playoff bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That's huge. But they have to make sure that they don't rest on their laurels. Luckily Lions head coach Dan Campbell is aware of this.

"Our opponent right now for us is really the satisfaction and  complacency." Campbell said. "That's what we're gonna fight from here on out and they're gonna know that. We'll have a meeting here in a little bit and we got smart guys, they understand that because all these questions, and I understand why you'd ask it and why it is a big story because it's been 30 years, but if we continue to talk about it, and we answer them and we live in that moment, then we're not getting to the next thing and it's really no different than what happens to you in the playoffs. You won a big game in the playoffs, well you don't have time to really enjoy it. You got to get ready for the next one. And that's where we're at. So it's a great thing. I wish we had more time to enjoy it, but we don't and we're off to the next one. We got to want more and we got to stay hungry or we won't be able to get the next one."

Simple as that. This game against the Cowboys is arguably a much bigger deal than last weeks game was. Yes, the Lions won their first divsion title in 30 years and I was the first one to tell you that game was the most important game in Lions history. Now the Lions are sort of in a place where every game is the biggest in Lions history.

If the Lions can beat the Cowboys, they can prove to the world that they are for real one more time and and move closer to that two seed or one seed. Then they'll have a huge game in week 18 that could potentially be for that number one seed if things fall the right way. Then they have to get their first playoff win since 1991. The importance level just keeps going up from here.

We'll see what team shows up on Saturday. If it's the hungry one, big things could happen.

Is there a case for Jared Goff winning the MVP?

The MVP discussion in the NFL has been a crazy one. It seems every week there is a new candidate tossed out there by the national media. Last week it was Brock Purdy. Then Purdy went out and threw four interceptions and got benched against the Ravens.  There's been a bunch of other names flying […]
