The Buffalo Bills just received a major boost ahead of their final two games of the regular season.

And with that, they get depth at a key position.

The team announced on Wednesday that they have activated cornerback Kaiir Elam from injured reserve.

This move fills their final open roster spot which was opened by defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who was placed on injured reserve after having right wrist surgery last week.

Elam was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 2 with a torn ankle ligament. He has been sidelined for the past seven games, but the Bills opted to open his 21-day practice window on Dec. 6. And Buffalo waited until the last day possible to finally activate him.

The cornerback has only been active for two games this season, recording a total of 14 tackles during that time.

Elam was drafted by the Bills in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, finishing his rookie season with 41 total tackles, two interceptions, and four passes defended across 13 games.

The Bills will face off against the New England Patriots this weekend, and then will have a crucial matchup against the Miami Dolphins to conclude the regular season. And getting Elam back at this point with playoffs still on the line is crucial for Buffalo.
