The Chicago Bears utilized a balanced offense and strong defense to secure their second victory of the season in Week 7.

D'Onta Foreman carried the team's offense during quarterback Tyson Bagent's first career start to give the Bears a 30-12 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Chicago ended the day with 323 yards of total offense (150 passing and 173 rushing) and three total takeaways on defense. All in all, the win was easily the Bears most complete game of the season.

"The one word that stands out to me is complimentary football, and that's really what it was all about," Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said after the win. "We wanted to come into the game and run the ball and we did a really nice job of that, controlling the game that way, and also being able to stop the run. I thought that was really good by the offensive and defensive line."

Foreman finished his big performance with 89 rushing yards on 16 carries and scored all three of the Bears offensive touchdowns. He even added three receptions and 32 receiving yards as well through the air. Darrynton Evans was equally as efficient rushing for 48 yards on 14 attempts.

Defensively, the Bears held the 2022 leading rusher Josh Jacobs and the Raiders offense to only 39 rushing yards as a team. The dominant performance against the run forced the Raiders into passing the ball 45 times, leading to three interceptions by the Bears defensive unit.

Cornerback Jaylon Johnson recorded two of the three interceptions (his first career game with 2+ INTs) and returned one for a 39-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds had the other interception, the sixth of his career.

Bagent, in his first career NFL start, completed 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 162 yards and one touchdown. Despite his safe and effective game, Eberflus reiterated that quarterback Justin Fields will continue to be the team's starter once he returns from injury but didn't shy away from praising Bagent's performance.

"Like we talked about all week, you know, there was poise and there was pocket presence," Eberflus added. "He did get some pressures sometimes and he did evade the rush and deliver the ball down the field. And I thought he did a really nice job of distributing the ball to the skill [players]."

DJ Moore led the team once again with eight receptions for 54 yards against the Raiders. However, it was more important to see the other pass catchers finally get involved on offense. Darnell Mooney added 32 yards and rookie Tyler Scott was able to total 33 scrimmage yards.

The result finally showcases what Eberflus has been preaching every single week. The team is starting to get a grasp on the fundamentals and learning how to play together as a cohesive team at the same time while playing the style of football that Eberflus imagined for this team.

"We're aggressive. Not only aggressive with the calls, we're aggressive with the techniques," Eberflus said. "You want to play that aggressive style and it takes all of us, right? It takes all of us and it's important that we play together, play with good fundamentals and good technique. That's on the players and they're doing a really good job of improving every single week in their technique and fundamentals."

The Bears will get an opportunity to keep the momentum rolling going into Week 8, where the team will be on the road to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a primetime matchup on Sunday Night Football.
