New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a fan of reunions and he should consider bringing back another familiar face that just became available.

Thanks to the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver Gunner Olszewski is up for grabs after being released on Friday.

Of course, the Patriots wouldn't be signing him as another weapon to their offense, but rather as a veteran addition and possible upgrade on special teams.

It's perfect timing considering the Patriots have an open spot on their roster and they could use the extra depth at punt returner with Marcus Jones (shoulder) on injured reserve.

Before heading to Steel City, Olszewski spent his first three NFL seasons with the Pats from 2019 to 2021. His best year to date came in 2020 when he finished the season with a league-high 346 punt return yards on 20 returns. He also became the first Patriots punt returner to be named to the All-Pro first team for his efforts.

Olszewski has spent the last two seasons with the Steelers, but his role has been limited, playing just 8 special teams snaps so far this year.

That could change if he joins the Patriots, which could certainly use his help with them ranking 25th overall on special teams (via PFF) heading into Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills.
