The Seattle Seahawks are one of the biggest wildcards in the NFL right now. Not only are the Hawks in a legitimate wildcard spot for the playoffs, but the team is also capable of the most success and disappointment at the same time as any other team in the NFL.

In short, there is one player on the Seahawks that has the ability to single-handedly impact where Seattle wins or loses a game.

Geno Smith is it for this team. If he plays well, Seattle can win a game against almost anyone. If Smith plays poorly, Seattle can lose almost any game.

While perhaps not a perfect metric, when Smith plays well, it is pretty easy to expect a win. When Smith struggles, it is equally easy to expect a loss.

This can be both easy and hard to accept for the Seahawks.

While Seattle is used to playing with an excellent quarterback at the helm for the franchise, it is also obvious that the coaching staff would be more than happy to have this team be defined by a conservative, tough rushing attack.

That doesn't matter.

As much as the team would like that idea, this is a pass-first team and the success for this franchise will be defined by Smith's abilities to throw the ball.

The Cardinals will be an excellent test for this. If Smith plays well, this should be a very easy win. If Smith struggles, even the worst team in the NFL could stop the Seahawks, and that includes the Cardinals.

Hopefully Smith plays as well as possible. It is certainly in the cards.
