TOTTENHAM — The Tennessee Titans (2-4) left another game with a loss and more questions than answered. Tennessee fell by a score 24-16 to the Baltimore Ravens (4-2) in the latest installment of the NFL's International Series.

The Titans are now 0-2 in games played abroad under coach Mike Vrabel.

London games are hardly Vrabel and Co.'s biggest issue right now. Tennessee looks lost, and to add insult to literal injury, has no idea as the team boards its nine-hour transatlantic flight home who its starting quarterback moving forward will be. Starter Ryan Tannehill sustained a right ankle that required him to eventually be carted off the field.

"It freaking sucks," said Tannehill of the injury. "It's part of the game, right, to get injured. It is not an enjoyable process, especially when you know its a significant injury. So, we'll see what its going to look like moving forward here."

Tannehill and the team's training staff will not know the full extent of the injury until the Titans land in Nashville. The quarterback will undergo an MRI once the team arrives back in the US. Tannehill was on crutches in the locker room when speaking to media after the game.

The injury forces a quarterback controversy that seemed inevitable.

Vrabel and the team's veterans seem to have precious little answers to the issues that plague this team. There are 11 games left in the 2023 regular season, so the campaign is far from lost. It does seem that Tennessee is stuck in some form of football purgatory, however.

"Probably, maybe," said Vrabel when asked if some of the Titans' issues might not be correctable. "Not going to stop trying. Not going to stop trying to prepare (the players) and teach them fundamentals and execution. There will be some good plays in there and there will be some in there that we have to eliminate that are getting us beat."

If Tennessee isn't fixable, at least they have two young quarterbacks they can learn more about.

Second-year player Malik Willis replaced Tannehill late in the 24-16 loss. The other alternative is 2023 second-rounder Will Levis, who is currently third on the depth chart. The Titans head into their Week 7 bye before hosting the Atlanta Falcons. A short turnaround will be in order for whomever ends up under center, because what follows is a short-week Thursday night game against the Steelers that kicks off a three-game road stint.

Tennessee has not won a game away from Nissan Stadium since Nov. 17, 2022.

Ryan Tannehill building early chemistry with one of Titans’ key offseason additions

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is quickly building chemistry with one of the team's key offseason additions. Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing met with reporters on Tuesday and discussed Tannehill's offseason, among other topics. Downing noted that Tannehill and tight end Austin Hooper have been taking advantage of their time together and are getting comfortable […]
