The Minnesota Vikings got a much-needed conference win in Week 6. The Vikes escaped Chicago with a 19-13 victory to improve to 2-4 on the season.

In typical Vikings' fashion, the win wasn't pretty, but it counts all the same. The Vikings will now have prepare for a tough game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.

Now, let's get into the instant reactions from this victory.

The Vikings finally win a turnover battle

Coming into Week 6, the Vikings had the worst turnover differential in the league. Against the Bears, however, the Vikings actually won the turnover battle.

Kirk Cousins lost one fumble, but the Viking defense forced 3 turnovers overall. It was encouraging to see the Vikes win a turnover battle for once.

The Vikings' run game was inefficient again

The Vikings managed just 46 yards on the ground. Mattison had 18 carries for 44 yards while Cam Akers had just one carry for 8 yards.

It was strange to see Akers be a non-factor as I asummed the back would get plenty of opportunities. Especially with the Vikings have the lead all game, it was strange that Akers didn't see the field more.

The depleted Bears had no problem running the ball

With the Bears being down three running backs, nobody expected the team to be able to run the ball effectively. Instead, the Bears rushed for 162 yards, which was over 100 more ground yards than the Vikings.

Coming into the game, the Vikes had been averaging just over 100 yards per game, so seeing them give up more than that total against this team was surprising.
