Buccaneers rival has made historically-bad move

You want to do everything in your power to make sure your future is in your own hands in the NFL. You never want to rely on other teams to make life easier for you.
With that being said, your opponent, and perhaps even your rivals, making terrible, franchise-altering mistakes is something that no team would vote against if given the chance.
That appears to be what is happening for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the Panthers made a trade that looks even worse by the day to secure Bryce Young.
This is far from a total indictment of Young, but here is where the Panthers stand after their trade:
Even if you get past the second round picks, which are nothing to scoff at, the idea that the Panthers traded DJ Moore, a proven commodity in the NFL, and the pick that could very well turn into Caleb Williams for Young is about as disastrous as a deal could be in any sport.
Young should prove to be a decent quarterback down the line, but Williams is, by all accounts, one of the best quarterback prospects ever. Williams to Carolina would've shifted the foundation of that franchise forever.
Now, the Panthers are forced to wait on Young to develop while they can't protect him or provide him with any weapons to find success with.
Seems like this could go very bad for Carolina very fast.
The Buccaneers won't complain. They'll just sit atop the NFC South and laugh. There should be plenty of time to do that over the next few years as Young struggles due to franchise issues and Williams balls out as expected.
Tampa's spot atop the NFC South gets more and more secure by the day.
Buccaneers define themselves in dominant Week 4 win
You can’t argue with those results.
