The Green Bay Packers fell to 2-3 after a tough loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and to make things even more grim – the team lost two starters on defense.

Starting linebacker Quay Walker and starting safety Darnell Savage both left the game with different injuries: Walker suffered a knee injury while Savage exited early with a calf injury. Neither returned and it remains to be seen how much time they'll miss.

Both injuries are obviously significant, but Walker's really stings when considering his running mate in All-Pro linebacker De'Vondre Campbell has missed the last two games with a high ankle sprain. The Packers are hopeful Campbell can return after the bye, but it's unclear if he or Walker are ready to go in Week 7.

Packers defense still holds up despite injuries

The defense still managed to play pretty well despite the loss. Joe Barry's unit held the Raiders to just 17 points, overall, and it made two very impressive stops after Jordan Love's interceptions gave the Raiders offense some good opportunities to put more points on the board. The Packers finished the night allowing just 279 total net yards and they recorded an interception, 4.0 sacks, six quarterback hits, eight tackles for loss, and four pass break-ups.

Sure, there was the really weird moment where Barry had OLB Preston Smith covering Davante Adams and that play obviously didn't end well. But overall, the unit was pretty impressive.

Still, losing Walker and/or Savage for any amount of time would be a big blow. Both players have been playing well this year and the depth behind them is questionable.

We'll provide any updates once Matt LaFleur speaks to the media here in a bit.
