If Deshaun Watson can’t start for the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, the team will start their third different quarterback this season.

P.J. Walker will make a start from the practice squad if Watson is again sidelined against the San Francisco 49ers, according to Brad Stainbrook of theOBR.

Watson suffered the injury in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans in a win that he played well in. In Week 4, Watson was sidelined in a lopsided loss to the Baltimore Ravens that Dorian Thompson-Robinson started in.

Things did not go well for the rookie before the bye week when he threw three interceptions in the AFC North matchup. Though the team still believes in him, throwing him out there against the 5-0 49ers does not seem like the best of choices that can be made.

Cleveland added Walker to the practice squad at final cut-downs. The veteran started five games for the Carolina Panthers last season, as well as one game a year in both of the previous seasons. The Browns had Walker active two weeks ago behind DTR.

It’ll be a waiting game to see if Watson can go. He did not practice on Monday and his availability the rest of the week should be a good indicator.

"He’s doing everything in his power, working around the clock with rehab," Stefanski recently said. "So, he’s just doing what he’s being told to do in terms of his rehab process.”
