Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has a chance to become a part of NFL history and join some elite company on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

With 4+ touchdown passes, Fields will join Dan Marino (1984), Peyton Manning (2004), Drew Brees (2011), Patrick Mahomes (2018), and Russell Wilson (2020) as the only quarterbacks with 4+ touchdown passes in three consecutive games of a season.

It would be quite the accomplishment for the Bears quarterback, but it would take a major performance to make it happen.

The Bears offense has seemingly found its footing over the past two games and Fields has looked like one of the top quarterbacks in the league during that span.

In Week 4 against the Denver Broncos, Fields completed 28 of his 35 passes for 335 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. In Week 5, Fields showed up again throwing for 282 yards and another four touchdowns.

The quality of defenses Fields faced in his previous two games has certainly been ideal for an opposing quarterback. The Broncos (14) and Commanders (10) rank 32nd and 29th respectively in passing touchdowns allowed going into Week 6.

A favorable matchup will continue to present itself for Fields going up against a feeble Minnesota Vikings pass defense. The Vikings have allowed 9 passing touchdowns in 2023, the 5th-most in the NFL, and 1,200 passing yards, 9th-most in the NFL.

Given the Bears equally as dreadful defense, this NFC North matchup could quickly turn into a barn burning shootout. The recipe is ripe for Fields to have yet another big game throwing the football on Sunday, and he could possibly join the NFL history books in the process.
