Tyreek Hill probably cracked a big smile on Wednesday morning regarding the latest big move in the AFC East.
The Los Angeles Chargers traded J.C. Jackson to the New England Patriots on Wednesday morning in exchange for swapping of late-round draft picks and the Chargers eating most of Jackson's salary for 2023.
The move was made in response to the loss of CB Christian Gonzalez, who was having a tremendous start to his rookie season for New England. Gonzalez reportedly suffered significant shoulder damage from dislocating his shoulder in the Patriots 38-3 loss to Dallas last week.
While no one wants to see anyone get injured, the turn of events for Hill and Miami's offense are undoubtedly fortuitous.
Hill and the Dolphins' passing attack had a field day against the Chargers in Miami's season-opening 36-34 win. Hill burned Jackson for a 35-yard touchdown, beating the veteran corner one on one on a go route by several yards. Hill had a monster day with 11 catches for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The following week against New England, Hill had a much more subdued day, catching 5 passes for 40 yards and one touchdown. Gonzalez did a very good job staying with Hill when he was on him.
Now, it appears that Hill will see Jackson lining up opposite from him again when the Patriots and Dolphins meet for the second time on October 29 at 1:00 pm ET at Hard Rock Stadium. Mike McDaniel and his staff will also have had 6 weeks to evaluate what didn't work against New England the first time around and make adjustments.
As such, the Cheetah could be in line to leave the Patriots' new acquisition in his dust once again.
Miami Dolphins have finally found their featured running back in De’Von Achane
