The New England Patriots showed no signs of stopping on Wednesday, continuing to make move after move.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Patriots are releasing punter Corliss Waitman from the practice squad.
Waitman was competing with Bryce Baringer during the preseason, but lost out to the rookie. Instead he earned a spot on the practice squad.
Waitman signed with the Patriots for his second stint in March after the team released Jake Bailey. He had previously signed with New England's practice squad in Nov. 2021.
The punter began his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, signing as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He was waived prior to the start of the season, but was placed on the practice squad.
Waitman went to the Las Vegas Raiders for a short time before re-signing with the Steelers, making his NFL debut during the 2021 season.
After being waived once again at the end of the season, Waitman was claimed off waivers by the Denver Broncos, being named the starting punter prior to the start of the 2022 season.
Since joining the league, he has appeared in 19 career games with 103 punts, averaging 46.9 yards.
