Things have been rough for the New England Patriots in recent days after losing two of their top defenders in Sunday's blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

However, they have finally received some good news.

Along with J.C. Jackson coming back to Foxborough, three players were seen at practice after starting the season on the physically unable to perform list and injured reserve.

This is the first week that players who began the season on that list are eligible to return, and they wasted no time.

Defensive back Cody Davis and defensive end Trey Flowers were both out practicing with the team on Wednesday, appearing to get ready to come off the PUP list. They were joined by offensive lineman Riley Reiff who started on injured reserve.

All three have opened their 21-day window to come off their respected lists.

The only two players on the active roster who were absent was LB Matthew Judon and CB Christian Gonzalez, who are expected to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Although there are reports that Tyrquan Thornton might be preparing to return, the receiver was not at practice on Thursday. He was joined by CB Jack Jones, with the two both remaining on injured reserve for the time being.

This has been a busy day for the Patriots who acquired Jackson in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers. They also released punter Corliss Waitman from the practice squad.
