Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has not had much to go his way in career starts against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Minkah Fitzpatrick is deserving of plenty of credit for the passer’s lackluster play in such games.

Jackson has logged three career starts against Pittsburgh, with his last one coming in Week 13 of the 2021 season. Fitzpatrick had quite a field day in this divisional matchup, as he hauled in one interception and allowed a mere 42.9 passer rating while in coverage.

Despite his previous success against the Jackson-led Ravens offense, Fitzpatrick expects to be in for a tactical duel with the versatile quarterback when the Steelers host the Ravens in Week 5.

"It's always a tough matchup when you are going against Lamar, or any guy like Lamar," Fitzpatrick said ahead of Week 5. "You have to be on your Ps and Qs, 24/7. You might have to come out of your assignment and help out when he's scrambling.

"When you are in coverage, you have to cover for X amount of time. It's a chess match."

Fitzpatrick has been watching film on Jackson in anticipation for the next installment of the Steelers and Ravens rivalry. Even as the two-time Pro Bowler is playing under a new offensive scheme, the veteran safety still sees the same Jackson who has given countless defenses plenty of problems over the years.

"He looks like Lamar Jackson," Fitzpatrick said. "He looks like a guy who can do it all. He looks like a guy that can get the ball out to his threats. He looks like a guy that can scramble in the pocket and make people miss and extend the play with his arm or his legs.

"He looks like the Lamar Jackson we all know and love."

Overall, Jackson holds a 1-2 record as a starter against Pittsburgh.
