The Indianapolis Colts are set to report for Training Camp on July 24, including an intriguing rookie class ready to take this opportunity by the horns and fight for a roster spot.
A part of their rookie class is a thinner-than-normal UDFA class, and the UFL has its eyes on a couple of UDFA Colts. One being QB Jason Bean out of Kansas, who was drafted with the first overall pick by the Memphis Showboats in the UFL College Draft on July 17.
Jason Bean

Bean is one of the most intriguing UDFAs in the Colts 2024 class. He began his college career at North Texas in 2018 and spent three seasons there before transferring to Kansas in 2021. During his three seasons at Kansas, he started 35 games, recording 4,662 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. And he is coming off the best year of his career by setting career highs with 2,130 yards and 18 touchdowns.
What makes him so interesting, though, is his ability to also be a dynamic runner, with him rushing for 902 yards and nine touchdowns during his three years at Kansas. The Colts are clearly intrigued by Bean's athleticism because they have him listed as both a QB and a WR on their roster ahead of Training Camp. The team's QB three job seems as wide open as its been in quite some time, with UDFA's Bean and Kedon Slovis set to compete with veteran Sam Ehlinger. And I'm very interested to see how much Bean also works with the WRs during Training Camp. I'm also curious to see if a player like Bean would rather be on an NFL practice squad or be a starter in the UFL in 2024.
UDFA QB Kedon Slovis was also drafted in the UFL College Draft to the D.C. Defenders with the 12th overall pick.

Colts LB Zaire Franklin will have to continue to prove doubters wrong in 2024
Proving people wrong has become second nature for Indianapolis Colts LB Zaire Franklin. And it looks like he will have to do it again in 2024, as he was left outside of a top-10 off-ball LB ranking based on a survey of NFL executives, coaches, and scouts.
