Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on June 30. Today, the All-American and Heisman hopeful issued a statement about the charge. We cover his reaction and dive into his 2025 NFL Draft stock.

Ollie Gordon II Statement on DUI Charge

Gordon, who enters the fall as our No. 2 back on our 2025 RB NFL Draft rankings, made what was almost a fatal mistake recently. A junior, Gordon was arrested for a DUI as he allegedly blew a .10 and .11 on the breathalyzer. He was caught driving 82 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone.

With an open container of alcohol in the car, speeding, and failing to stay in his lane, Gordon put himself and numerous others at risk. In the wake of Khyree Jackson's passing, this is an especially sensitive issue. For as impressive as his 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns were in 2023, Gordon could've lost it all.

Gordon took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to respond to the charge.

Gordon stated: "I am deeply sorry for the actions that led to my arrest on June 30th. I sincerely apologize to my family, everyone in our program, including our players, Coach Gundy, the staff, Oklahoma State University, and our fans.

Regardless of the outcome of this pending investigation, I did not uphold the values I have for myself and the values of the OSU football program. I am committed to learning and growing from this mistake and I will work to earn back the trust of those who I have disappointed. Thank you."

Ollie Gordon 2025 NFL Draft Stock

How will the DUI affect Gordon's 2025 NFL Draft stock? Right now, it's something more of a data point than a make-or-break moment. If he's known to be a party-goer and his commitment is questioned, then a fall into Day 2 is inevitable.

As it is now, Gordon is a fringe first-round projection as the running back position has been devalued. But his Heisman Trophy odds might take a bigger dip, depending on whether a suspension comes from the school, the Big 12, or the NCAA.

My guess is Gordon's stock doesn't get affected unless there's something reoccurring in his background. He's a dynamic talent, and ultimately, as we saw with Joe Mixon, the NFL will continue to give players who make mistakes the chance to produce.
