The Tennessee Vols were already a finalist for the services of 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon. However, it appears their chances of seeing their hat chosen by Brandon during his commitment on August 3 could end up being higher.
According to On3 Sports, Brandon will visit Knoxville between now and his commitment date.
Per On3 Sports, Brandon has visited each of his finalists at least once. The Greensborough, NC (Grimsley HS) star has visited NC State the most (6 times), followed by Tennessee (5). He visited NC State (6/18) and Alabama (6/21) most recently. However, it appears the Vols will get to make a final pitch to the talented signal caller shortly before he makes his decision.
Faizon is the top-ranked quarterback for both On3 Sports and 247 Sports, the latter of whom has him ranked at the top overall recruit in the 2026 class. He holds offers from just about every major program in the country.
One of the axioms of recruiting is to always have a quarterback in each recruiting class. The Vols have a good one in 2025 with George MacIntyre.
And it looks like Josh Heupel and his staff will have the late word to try to land a star for 2026.
Tennessee Vols HC Josh Heupel makes interesting decision ahead of SEC Media Days
