One of the Tennessee Vols' top remaining 2025 recruiting targets is set to announce his commitment on Saturday (July 13).

And thanks in part to Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava, Tennessee could be getting some good news when that announcement is made.

2025 four-star wide receiver Travis Smith Jr, 6-foot-4/191 lbs from Atlanta, GA, will decide on Saturday between Alabama, Georgia, or Tennessee.

It's the Bulldogs and the Vols that are viewed as the most likely winners of the battle for Smith, who is rated as the No. 15 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class.

Smith told On3 this week that Iamaleava is a "real factor" in his decision.

“Nico Iamaleava is the Tennessee factor," said Smith. "They put Nico with me on my official visit and he is a real factor for me. He is a great player, then they have others like George MacIntyre coming in behind him. They got the last official visit and I got a great understanding about where the program stands and where they are headed as a program."

Earlier this offseason, Smith told On3 that Tennessee's offense is the one that he would "gel into the easiest"

If Smith makes his decision based on the best fit for his skills, then Tennessee will win this recruiting battle. But he's from Georgia, and it's not like he'd be a bad fit in the Bulldogs' offense, so it's easy to see how UGA could still win this battle.

Smith told On3 that he'll be "going with his gut" on Saturday, which seemingly means this recruiting battle will go down to the very last second.
