The Las Vegas Raiders are receiving a lot of attention going into this 2024 season—mainly because there is really only one serious quarterback battle in the league, and it will take place in Costa Mesa, California, the new location for Raiders training camp.

Gardner Minshew has the potential to lead this team as the starter. However, Aidan O'Connell, with his untapped potential demonstrated last year, could be a strong contender. Given a full offseason and training camp reps, he could prove to be a formidable player. Considering his performance last season, he certainly deserves a chance.

This is a good problem to have in their case. That would be an issue if O'Connell were the undisputed starter because his backup was bad. But there is a whole other quarterback battle going on that no one is talking about.

The first and second spots on the roster are pretty much determined. It's either going to be Aidan O'Connell or Minshew as the starter, and whoever doesn't get the job will be the second-string quarterback. But there are four quarterbacks on the 90-man roster, and usually, teams carry three on the 53-man roster.

So, Carter Bradley, an undrafted free agent from South Alabama, and Anthony Brown from Oregon will be battling for that last spot. Those two guys can surprise some people in training camp who nobody seems to be talking about.

"You have competition in the quarterback room; what does every other room look at? They're looking at those two guys. Anthony Brown Jr.'s done a heck of a job as well," Antonio Pierce said on Friday.

Brown also played with Jackson Powers-Johnson, the Raiders rookie left and right guard. So, there is an advantage there, too. And, from everything we continue to hear, he is killing it.

"Anthony Brown, nobody has spoken about him, but he does a really good job for us right now. Then, we added Carter Bradley," Champ Kelly said.

Bradley has a ton of potential, in my opinion. So, the Raiders won't have an issue finding good talent in their quarterback room. They certainly have a second QB battle going on, and it could be very fun to watch.
